Human Resources Department
The 2007-2008 school year has been an exciting year for the Oxnard School District. The District and the three employee organizations are continuing to build a strong and collaborative relationship.
The District is continuing its efforts in being transparent and open in all of its business with the employees, parents, and community as we have over the last three years. The District believes that working collaboratively with staff, parents, students, and the community is the best way to ensure success for our students.
The Oxnard School District believes that our students deserve the most highly qualified and skilled teachers, support staff, classified staff, and management staff. To help achieve that goal, the District is pleased to report that the Oxnard School District has worked very hard with each Association to obtain the highest salary increases in the Ventura County over the past 3 years.

For Classified employees, the District commends the California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 272 who has made great strides to protect retiree health benefits by contributing to a post retirement health benefits trust fund.
The Oxnard Supportive Services Association (OSSA) and the District have worked together to improve working conditions to allow for increased services to students. OEA, CSEA and OSSA have reached agreements to allow for the transition of the District from multi-track year round to a single calendar schedule.
It is the desire of OSD to provide the highest quality services available to our children. Our commitment as an organization is to create an environment for children that is safe, nurturing, empowering, and which promotes growth and success for the children who learn in our schools.
Sexual abuse and exploitation of youngsters is an important concern to all of us. Our District wants employees to understand how to protect students, employees and the district from the devastating effects of abuse and how to avoid behavior that could make employees suspect of improper behavior. Therefore, the District is providing training in prevention of student molestation and abuse to all employees. The "ARMATUS" Molestation and Abuse Prevention Training has been provided to all employees and as of June 13, 2008, all employees who work 6 hours or more per day have completed the training.
