    Atentamente,

Matthew Rubin, Director y Gabriela Torres, Subdirectora

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Dear Kamala Families,

On behalf of the entire staff at Kamala, we want to wish you a happy new year. We hope that all of our Kamala students are ready to return to school this Monday, January 10, at 8:00 am. As we start this new school year, we are aware that the number of cases of COVID-19 are very high in our community, and, indeed, all over our country. In light of this, we wish to send a few important reminders.

    1. If your child is sick, he or she should stay home. Even if your child does not have COIVD, we do not want them at school where they could potentially spread their sickness to fellow students and staff. Remember to call the office at 805-385-1548 to report the absence.
    2. If your child becomes sick during the day and needs to be picked up, a school staff member will contact you. If this happens, please pick your child up as quickly as possible. Remember that another person can pick your child up as long as he or she is over 18 and on the emergency card.
    3. We have had systems in place all year to reduce the risk of spreading COVID among students and staff. These include:
      1. All students in grades K-6 eat lunch outside, unless it is raining. Students in grades 7 and 8 may choose to eat outside if they wish.
      2. All students and staff are required to wear masks while indoors. Although we do have extra masks available, please make sure your child brings a mask that fits him or her properly. Bandanas and gaiters are not acceptable.
      3. All classrooms have hand sanitizer, and students should apply hand sanitizer upon entering the classroom.
      4. All rooms in the school have air purifiers which remain on during the school day.

We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our students and staff. This is our top priority. Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Sincerely,

Matthew Rubin, Principal and Gabriela Torres, Assistant Principal
