In this model, EL’s are taught structured, sequential English Language Development (ELD) and other core subjects in English by authorized teachers using district-adopted textbooks and supplementary materials.  Primary language support is provided according to student need.  Instruction is based on ELD and grade level content standards.  Designed for students with reasonable fluency in English, it is typically indicated for EL’s with an overall ELPAC score of upper levels of Moderately Developed (Level 3) or Well Developed (Level 4).  This program is offered at all schools in 6th through 8th grade.
