• Seabridge New K-5 Elementary School

The District acquired the Seabridge school site in June 2013 and has filed a grant application with the State Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) for reimbursement of site acquisition costs.  Funding now awaits the Governor’s approval to sell the State Bonds approved by voters in November 2016, anticipated for later this year, to replenish the State facilities funding programs and to potentially reimburse the District in early 2018.

Proposed new facilities are based on the adopted Coastal Commission conceptual site plan for a 620 student K-5 school facility and include a two-story classroom building, library, administration space, multipurpose room, playfields, hard courts, and support spaces.

Flewelling and Moody Architects was selected to design the project and a process to select a lease-leaseback preconstruction and constructions services firm is underway.  Design is anticipated to be completed by early 2018.

Additionally, a Joint-Use Agreement is pending approval with the City Parks Department to allow for shared park/play field facilities to be utilized by the elementary school site, as well as the general public when not in use by the school.
