How to Become an AVID Student:

The process of becoming an AVID student is straightforward:

  • Express Interest: If you are interested in joining AVID, reach out to the AVID Coordinator or visit your School's AVID Office to express your interest in the program.
  • Application: Complete the AVID application online during the open application period. This form helps us understand your commitment to your education and your desire to embrace the AVID philosophy.
  • Interview: Expect a brief interview with the AVID Coordinator, during which you'll have the opportunity to share more about yourself and learn more about how AVID can benefit you.
  • Selection: Based on your application and interview, the AVID team will select students who demonstrate the determination and potential to thrive in the AVID program.

What to Expect as an AVID Student:

Once selected, you'll embark on a journey that includes:

  • College and Career Readiness: AVID will prepare you for higher education and future career opportunities.
  • Tutoring Support: Engage in collaborative study sessions with peers and college tutors to strengthen your academic skills.
  • Skills Development: Enhance critical thinking, writing, and organization skills essential for academic success.
  • College Visits: Explore college campuses and gain insight into the college experience.
