About Our Department

To realize OSD’s vision, we must build strong partnerships with our culturally and ethnically diverse families to ensure all students achieve an excellent education. Oxnard School District acknowledges that families serve as their children’s first network of support.

Our department is committed to creating opportunities for families to engage in decision-making processes at their schools and at the district level—and to empowering them to advocate for their children.

Get Involved at Your School

We invite all families to engage at their school site—not only by attending parent-teacher conferences and school events, but by ensuring their voices are included in the development of site initiatives such as the School’s Parent and Family Engagement Policy. School-level parent committees include:

District-Level Advisory Groups

Families are also cordially invited to join district-level parent focus groups to help prioritize LCAP goals and how funding should be used to improve students’ academic achievement and socio-emotional well-being.
