About the Department
The Purchasing Department procures the goods and services that keep Oxnard School District's schools and offices running — from classroom supplies and equipment to construction and professional services. The team manages competitive bidding, contracts, and vendor relationships in line with California public contracting law and Board policy, working to secure the best value for students and staff.
What We Do
Competitive Bidding
Manages formal bids, RFPs, and RFQs in accordance with California public contract law.
Contracts & Agreements
Prepares, reviews, and administers district contracts and standard agreements.
Purchasing & Requisitions
Processes purchase orders and requisitions for schools and departments across the district.
Vendor Relations
Oversees vendor registration, contractor prequalification, and ongoing vendor relationships.
Compliance
Ensures purchases follow Board policy and applicable public contracting law.
