Assessment Information
Oxnard School District requires teachers to administer assessments according to the District Assessment Calendar in order to monitor student progress and inform instruction.

District Required Assessments administered year round:
- Smarter Balanced Interim Assessment Blocks - The Interim assessment blocks (IABs) are computer-based tests administered to students in grades three through eight, year round. Unlike the Summative SBAC, the IABs have a fixed number of items and focus on smaller sets of targets in English Language Arts/literacy and math to provide more detailed information for instructional purposes. The purpose of the IABs is to provide teachers and administrators with results to support teaching and learning. In addition, the IABs provide meaningful information for gauging student progress towards mastery of the skills measured by the Summative SBAC.
