San Miguel Preschool is part of the Oxnard School District’s Early Childhood Education Services and plays a vital role in supporting young learners with diverse needs. At this site, we provide Special Day Classes (SDC) which are designed to meet the unique developmental, academic, and communication needs of preschool-aged children.

If a student requires an SDC setting and is eligible for TK enrollment, they will enroll for a TK SDC program at one of our district schools that have TK SDC classrooms.

San Miguel hosts Special Education Self-Contained Classrooms for preschoolers who have been formally evaluated and identified through the IEP process as needing intensive support. These Special Day Classes provide:

• Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI)
• Speech and Language Therapy
• Individualized, structured learning environments tailored to support student success

In addition to supporting students in the SDC program, San Miguel also provides Speech and Language Services as a stand-alone support. These services are available to preschool students who do not require a self-contained special education classroom, but who qualify for speech and language intervention based on evaluation results.
