Dear Brekke Families,
We hope this letter finds you safe and well as we all take the necessary steps to stay healthy during this time. This change to our way of life can bring up many questions and concerns, so we want to let you know we are here to support in any way we can. As students are preparing for distance learning, our Brekke staff members are participating in distance collaboration, both with our site and our district, to ensure we continue to provide the necessary support to our students and families. As part of this support, the Oxnard School District has prepared resources for Distance Learning (Click here for link to Distance Learning Resources). The resources are not required or graded, but a way to support students and parents during school closures. Below you will find links to grade level resources and distance learning activities beginning April 20th.
In addition to academic resources, we have other resources available to support meeting social-emotional and other basic needs. Some of these resources can be found on our District Website. Other resources will be updated on our school website under the School Counselor and Outreach Specialist pages. All staff members will also be available through email (emails can be found under the staff directory tab on our website) and some teachers through their classroom communication apps. Staff members will be setting Office Hours to answer questions and provide support to students and parents. If you leave a message after office hours, the teacher will get back to you within a 24 hour period.
We have also put together a brief survey for families to help us ensure all our families have what they need at this time. We ask, if you are able, to please take a few minutes to complete the survey to help us support in providing or finding the necessary resources to meet your needs. (Take the survey here.
