Dear Marina West Community,
I am humbled and honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Marina West Elementary School and join this outstanding school community. I assure you that I share in this school community’s dedication to providing students equitable, standards-based, rigorous instruction that will accelerate the learning of every student in a safe and meaningful learning environment.
The 2021-2022 school year will mark my 28th year in education. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving Oxnard School District students in various capacities- paraeducator, classroom teacher, teacher on special assignment with a focus on English learner achievement, and most recently, I have served as assistant principal at K-8 and 6-8 school campuses.
I firmly believe that a strong relationship between home and school is essential for the success of all students. As a team, we will continue to embed critical thinking and collaboration so every student has an opportunity to be their best. I look forward to meeting with parents, teachers and students to hear about your ideas for Marina West and to discuss how we can continue to communicate and collaborate over the course of the upcoming school year.
I would like to offer a huge thank you to Ms. Confidence Johnson for her support and assistance in helping to make this a smooth transition.
