    Lopez Academy Families,

Hello Lopez Academy students and families! We are hopeful that our students and families had a restful and safe summer break! We are beginning the new school year on Wednesday, August 17th. Students had an opportunity to pick up their schedules on registration day, but we will have schedules available for any student that needs a copy on the first day of school. As with every new school year, we have some changes taking place at Lopez Academy. Most notably, we have an update in our daily and weekly student schedule.

School will continue to start at 8:45 each day, with students now being released at 3:19 on everyday except Wednesday, which will have a 2:19 early dismissal. Students will NOT have early dismissal on the first day of school-the early release day will commence on August 24th. Please see our website for exact bell schedules.

Personally, I am excited to welcome all of our students back to campus later this month, particularly our newest 6th grade students. The Lopez staff is looking forward to partnering with our parents to make this school year a great one for your student. I encourage all parents/guardians to get into the habit of communicating directly with your student’s teachers through email or Canvas. I also recommend that all parents sign up as an “observer” in Canvas so you can see all assignments, grades, and teacher notifications for your student. As soon as we have a finalized date and format for back to school night, we will immediately share with our families.

At Lopez Academy we strive to consistently communicate with parents throughout the school year. We encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to help keep up to date. At registration all students received blank information forms that need to be filled out and returned the first week of school to ensure that we have the most current contact information for parents and emergency contacts. We look forward to making this a great school year for your student! Thank you in advance for your support and please do not hesitate to reach out via email or by calling our office directly with any questions.

    Respectfully,

    Mr. Genaro Magana, M.Ed

    Interim Principal
