Hello and Welcome to Christa McAuliffe Elementary School!

We are committed to the District’s promise to deliver an education which empowers all children to achieve excellence.

My name is Brian Blevins, Principal of McAuliffe Elementary School. It gives me great pleasure to serve our students, staff, families, and community in my role. You know you are at McAuliffe when you see students arrive at school everyday feeling excited, safe, and ready to learn because we truly believe, “it’s always a great day to be a Challenger!”

You will also see all staff passionate about making a difference in the lives of students. We believe students will learn and thrive as we live out our commitment to providing a well-rounded education to all students. We do this through teacher collaboration, intentional and targeted teaching practices, and a focus on social-emotional learning and support. Our staff promises to help our students succeed through our dedication to excellence, commitment, and pride.

We truly believe our partnership with the community will help us reach our goals. We value and encourage volunteers in the classroom, community events on campus such as STEAM night/Talent Show/and Literacy Nights, and all staff having an open-door policy.

Again, welcome to McAuliffe, home of the Challengers!

  • Welcome to the start of the 2022-23 school year at Christa McAuliffe Elementary School!

    Dear McAuliffe Families and Community,

Welcome to the start of the 2022-23 school year at Christa McAuliffe Elementary School! If you are new to McAuliffe School, we are excited and proud to welcome you to the Challenger family. To all our returning Challengers, we are so happy to have you back. We are ecstatic to officially start the new academic year on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Although last year was the start of the journey to “Return to Normalcy” post-pandemic, this year we plan to hit the ground running. After a successful end-of-year STEAM night last year, we plan on hosting more events for families, such as a Talent Show, Book Fair, and awards assemblies. We also plan on bringing more parent volunteers into the classroom. In addition to academic excellence, school culture and community involvement remain a high priority.

In addition to the post-pandemic, our school experienced a flood in January of 2022 and was being reconstructed through June. While some staff and students were displaced in other areas for 6 months, we can proudly say that things will be returning back to normal. The office is back open and, as a result, the library will be open for students to check out books. The four large storage bins on the blacktop have been removed and classes that were affected by the flood received brand new carpet. To optimize safety, we will continue to lock our front doors once the school day begins and we ask any visitors to call the office or knock on the main door to enter the building.

To help start our year together, I want you to be aware of a change to our bell schedule. Our bell schedule has changed with Wednesdays being a day for teachers to collaborate. See instructional start and dismissal times:

And, remember… It’s always a great day to be a Challenger!

    Sincerely,

    Brian Blevins

    Principal
