OSD Parent Survey

As we finish the first semester of this school year, I would like to thank you for your continued support and patience during these months of Distance Learning. We appreciate your collaboration in educating and caring for our children. I know that these are challenging times for all of us and that there is an eagerness to return to in-person learning among our families. We want the same. As soon as we receive authorization from the Ventura County public health department, Oxnard School District schools will resume half day in-person instruction with approved safety plans in place.
Next week you will receive a survey designed to understand your commitment and instructional preference in Spring 2021. The survey will be sent via your child’s iPad, so please be on the lookout for it! Families and students will have the option to choose between a hybrid model or to continue in distance learning. (In the hybrid model, students will receive live instruction in school, and when at home, students will continue to receive a combination of asynchronous and synchronous instruction.) The results of the survey will help us finalize our plans and determine instructional schedules and safety protocols that need to be in place to ensure a safe arrival for students, teachers, and staff on campus.
I will work with staff and the Public Health Department to initiate this transition to In-Person Learning for the families that choose the hybrid model. In the meantime, we will continue providing education to our students via Distance Learning into mid-January 2021.
Once again, thank you for your support, understanding and participation! The deadline to turn in the survey is December 3rd. Please make sure to complete the survey by the deadline.
I want to wish you a safe and happy holiday season!
Dr. Karling Aguilera-Fort
